Christian Sermons Philippians 4:8 | Thoughts, Feelings & Action. Everyone has different life experiences. When I was young, I wish there was someone who could teach me these following things:

1. Thoughts Determine the Quality of Life

A wise mind leads to wise decisions and choices and conversely, a confused and restless mind will result in a life filled with confusion and restlessness. A mind that is at rest and full of peace result in a life that is restful and peaceful.

Therefore, at any time avoid negative thoughts with the potential to make life messy and tiresome. Educating his mind/thought life is a person’s lifelong endeavour.

For this reason the apostle Paul writes in Philippians 4:8 New International Version (NIV) 8 Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.

If we are being honest, a large portion of our problems are caused by wrong thinking. If a parent teaches this truth to his/her children, it would be an invaluable lesson to the child’s life.

2. Do not follow every whim.

Realize that generally humans have excessive wants and needs to satisfy the eye and the flesh and pursuit of these things takes up money and time. Most of the desires of man without the guidance of the Holy Spirit are deceitful and illusive. Indeed, new things are nice and beautiful , but with the passage of time will quickly turn into futility, useless and eventually become a burden in our lives .

3. Stop exhausting yourself and others.

Most human action is driven by the thoughts and desires of his heart. Thoughts and desires that are uncontrolled are exhausting to ourselves and others. Examples of exhausting ourselves is when we like to know and meddle in the affairs of others through real life or social media not because we are motivated by love and concern , but merely excessive curiosity.

Excessive obsession with cleanliness, neatness and beauty of the house. Excessive obsession with prestige and reputation. Excessive obsession to one’s beautification unless it represents our livelihood. Obsession about activities with unclear benefits and usefulness .

Therefore make sure that our actions are useful for our present and future life. You should choose activities that glorify and exalt the name of God and are useful for others . Such as prayer, praising and worshiping God, making a living for the family, raising children, serving our families through cooking, cleaning the house and all the other traditional tasks that are good and useful .

Make Jesus Christ the center of our lives, because all the other things will soon pass. Jesus loves and bless us all. Amin.
