Christian Sermons Romans 5: 12-21 | Grace

Christian Sermons Romans 5: 12-21 | Grace. One of the greatest and most glorious celebrations celebrated by believers is the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead. Let me share briefly some implications for us believers taken from Romans 5: 12-21.

1. The Celebration of Victory Over Death

Romans 1: 15 But the gift is not like the trespass. For if the many died by the trespass of the one man, how much more did God’s grace and the gift that came by the grace of the one man, Jesus Christ, overflow to the many!

Due to Adam’s violation death is introduced to all men, but also by the obedience of one man, Jesus Christ, everything is restored. The resurrection of Christ from the dead is one of the greatest events that had ever occurred under heaven.

Unfortunately, the doctrine of Christ’s death and resurrection is vehemently being resisted and rejected by many people who do not believe that Jesus was the son of God. It is foolishness to those who are perishing, but brilliant and splendid for us the redeemed.

This plan was born from God’s heart that is full of wisdom but is a source of embarrassment to those who consider themselves clever and intelligent. God’s way is different to our ways.

2. The Celebration of Our Justification

Romans 5: 16 – 19 has mentioned and emphasized the grace of justification for sinners four times. This justification was the result of what Christ has done on the cross.

3. The resurrection of Christ is proof of the certainty of our justification.

Romans 4: 23-25 New International Version (NIV) The words “it was credited to him” were written not for him alone, but also for us, to whom God will credit righteousness—for us who believe in him who raised Jesus our Lord from the dead. He was delivered over to death for our sins and was raised to life for our justification.

So the resurrection of Christ is evidence of our justification. If Christ is not risen then our justification is not definite or valid. Also, not only Abraham is called the righteous, but we are also called righteous when we believe in the Father who raised Jesus from the dead.

There are so many verses which say that God has made us righteous because of Jesus, therefore we need to heed the word of God and not live in prolonged guilt.

Let us teach and emphasize constantly the doctrine of justification to our children and all believers and also non-believers when we evangelize them.
